This is my darling Janome, have had her for about 10 years now and have worked her hard in that time. She's been feeling a bit neglected lately, not had much time for sewing, but no longer, I am going to make time. She is a little under the weather though, her screen is fading, I can still read it if I stand up and lean back a little, she will be heading for a service pretty soon.
After so long at procrastinating I decided that today was the day that I got back to my sewing so went in search of something to make, was looking for bag patterns on the net when I came across this little beauty, a tut for a fabric flower - it was perfect and best of all FREE - gotta love Freebies!
Chose a brown and pink print I had in my stash and set to work. The cutting out was the hardest part. I didn't have any self covered buttons so was going to use a cream button, it didn't look right. But it looked great when I placed a shell button upside down on top of it. I saw button stacking on the net recently. I love shell buttons, I try to collect as many as I find - most of which have been reclaimed from old clothing.

I am really pleased with the final product, now I have to make something to put it onto - yep another excuse to buy more fabric.
To Aimee at Homespun Threads, thank you very much for the tutorial, I'm so glad that you chose to share it.

Oh! That turned out so pretty. I really should make more of these. I think they'd be so awesome as pins so I could wear them with all sorts of things. Thanks for mentioning me! Happy Sewing
