Work and free stuff

I was transferred to another location at work last week, was told it was coming, then told they changed their minds because they were worried that I didn't want to travel so far. To me it meant working with people that I respect and whose work ethics match my own, so I told them in no uncertain terms that I wanted to go. Don't mind the travel at all, I catch the train and can knit. It's a 20 minute walk from the station, I now don't feel guilty about not getting my exercise. At the moment I'll be taking on 2IC, Supervisory role temporarily so it will mean longer hours for a couple of months at the most.

My only bugbear is that I come home to a messy house, spent this morning tidying and forcing the kids to help - they don't do well without supervision, where did I go wrong? The fact that hubby brought home 2 tables and a countertop, just dumping them in the dining area. There's nowhere else for them to go right now, I did at least move them to look a little better.

They came from his work, they were throwing them out. He was hoping to use the tables in the computer room but has changed his mind. The benchtop is going into the laundry, the washer and drier will go under it, as well as a hamper or two. It will give a spot for folding clean clothes. It will fit perfectly, the only thing wrong is that it has a hole cut out of it, but I think we can plug it with something. I love free stuff.

Oh Yay you have your laundry Bench!! I have been meaning to get some oil of cloves too, I totally shudder in our only bathroom with the mould/mildew on the roof and upper walls and the stains irk me just as much.

Yes I have my laundry bench, but it's leaning against the wall in the dining room at the moment. My husband is notoriously slow when it comes to starting jobs around the house. I've been waiting years for many jobs to be done, haven't been able to use our second shower for around 5 years due to a simple leak, I could go on.
